Strange Sights Indeed

There’s a perfectly rational explanation for everything – or is there?

Today’s “strange sights” observations are:

1. The crowds of people gathered outside banks when we went out for lunch.

1A. It’s the start of the month. “Banks are always crowded and have long queues at the start of the month” says F.  The customers just haven’t had to wait outside before.  No social distancing there (very sociable groups by the looks of it), but it’s one out/one in and I guess once they are inside it will be ‘all care and caution’

2. Black-garbed priest with tall hat sifting through the sale rack of women’s clothing at the shop beside the church.

2A. That sets the mind racing!  Rational explanations on a postcard please…..   Of course we’ve assumed he’s shopping for his sister’s birthday.

  1. Your posts appear sporadically in my mail box. This one seems to have been lost in space.
The tellers in the bank tell us off now if we actually go inside and remind us about internet banking. I had to use the machine the other day, end of the month and there was a queue outside but must say they were recently distanced. Unusual for here.
As for the priest, he may actually have been a married one. But yes, we do hope he was searching through the pile for the female in his life.

  3. And there I thought stocks were getting low at the church op shop so he was looking for 'new things' to fill the racks
