I've been watching them every day this week (them and the aeroplanes that have started going overhead again)...
And yes, those fishers are all standing up, and all adults. And yes, Tiggers know about Lidl. We used to live close to one, and I don't like their catfood, but F liked their bakery, and occasionally came home with weird stuff like special shaped cake carrying boxes, or solar powered garden lamps.
Ok they are really hard to see but these fishers appear to have unfeasibly long fishing rods.
They have only just started to appear this week, so either it is a season of some sort, or Lidl have just had a special on super long fishing rods. (Other supermarkets are available......... but not many of them have a weekly changing selection of oddball stuff you never knew you needed - cheaply.)

They probably need those long rods to get their line out beyond rocks which will snag them.

It must have been a run of some kind of fish. They were only there one day and haven't been back. The guys with the normal fishing rods and throw lines have returned.

ReplyDeleteOh we have an Aldi near us - same sort of deal! I did get a fabulous clothes rack there once for not a lot of exchange. I have to think those rods are for some special kinda fish. Large one maybe... keep your peepers on them Tigger, maybe pawsuade F to take you to say hi to those guys. Could be profishable!!! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
There's a a little black cat we've seen wandering about the waterline and wondered if she was fishing herself, but worked out that she has worked out where the fishers stand and checks after they have left for any bits they might have left behind after cleaning them. hen one day we saw her greet a couple who arrived on a moped and started unpacking fishing gear. She has obviously endeared herself to certain fishers.
