Seen in Piraeus this week
It looked like a nice shiny new one. (For the non-readers of Greek that says something like 'we return to nature that which belongs to it'). Furthermore, brown bins to match the truck have started appearing on some streets.
F's made another new friend who is also into 'composting'. She visited us last week. What is it with you guys and 'compost'? How do you find one another? Is there a secret society handshake or something?
LOL compost lovers just seem to gravitate towards each other!

DeleteWow I am impressed. Well done Piraeus . I heard a discussion on these about a year ago and wondered how they would work.
ReplyDeleteWe always have 2 compost piles on the go. I've just stopped using one so it can develop for my winter garden.
We used to bury fish bones on the garden too but no matter how well I covered them your darn cousins would sniff them out
Yeah - we are curious to see how this works too. Locals can't distinguish between the existing waste and recycling bins, simply leaving the lids open and lobbing their rubbish bags at whatever is nearest. We can't see the brown bins being any different. Presently they are all padlocked closed. Even if they are emptied daily, how are they NOT going to be a really stinking receptacle in this heat?

ReplyDeleteGood to see, Mr T... compost is most impawtant for the nurturing of the land where other things can be grown - veges, y'know, fowers, that sort of thing. As it says on the truck, return to Ma Nature that which is hers. Only hers mind. None of that plastic stuff!!! Hugs and whiskeries YAM-aunty xxx
Birds of a feather will flock together lol
ReplyDeleteIt’s wonderful when you find like minded people
