Lucky Shop

Passed on the way to work:

...a good luck charm for every occasion.

We slow down as we pass to see if we can be marinated in the luck that must be gathered there in spades and oozing out under the door.

It never seems to be open at the hours we keep.

What started out as all handmade, hand-painted, good luck symbols at Christmas time has diversified lately into hats, bags and coffee mugs (all with luck-charming images on them).

And yes, there are blues eyes by the bucketful.  F's been told she doesn't need one of those because her own are a blueish shade of eye colour.

Maybe it isn't really the luckiest of shops, but they seem to be hanging in there.

(Sorry about the reflections, she's no photographer.)

Well, some say 'take your luck where you find it'... and there are tribes around the world who believe that photographs suck the luck away!!! (Jus' observin'...) Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

    1. I've heard that some cultures regard the making/taking of an image as removing some part of the 'essence' of the being - a dilution. If that was true here I'd be little more than a gauzy shadow by now. We are in the camp that believes your real luck is your personality and personal resources that determine how you respond or react to life's variations; variations that many people describe as luck (good or bad). Furrings and purrings Aunty YAM - may the 'luck' be with you. Mr T.

  2. I like that big blue fish in the front and the raffia basket. You've just reminded me I must get a big blue eye to send to my niece in NZ, to hang over her little boy's cot.

    1. I don't know about 'lucky' Margaret, here (and in Turkey) they are meant to protect one from the gaze of the evil eye (some sort of malignancy). Turkish fishermen paint them on their boats.

Then we can get rid of the corona
Ohhhhh that’s what’s happened. The whole world was given the mati from some aliens

    1. We've got plenty of garlic here to keep off the eye. Hope it works against the virus.
