Keep it Dry for 2 Weeks

I've been alluding to sun damage on F's face so she had to agree to post the unflattering photo. She has posted plenty of unflattering photos of me over the years.....

F usually wears those little handbag specs on the endish of her nose.  The endish of her nose is gone now so she might have to ask the surgeon to stitch a button on there to hold up her specs.

She has to wear her handbag specs, she's broken all her good ones! 3 pairs in one week. What sort of person who can't see to type my blog without specs, drops, sits on, or dumps them in the bottom of a tote bag with a large tin of cat food, 3 pairs all in the same week?

And she has to keep that nose dry for two weeks - ha ha ha ha ha hehehehehe - this is going to be fun. Does sweat count as wet? The steri-strips are already sliding off in the sweaty heat and she says the anaesthetic hasn't even worn off yet.

And as a postscript F says to add (in case her brother is reading this) there must have been a good deal of cauterizing involved because it smelled like tailing lambs.

Oh, tailing lambs... that brought flashbacks!!! But gracious, I do hope F heals quickly. And rather the cauterising than the spreading - she knows what I mean. A button for specs ...hmmm, Tigger, you may be onto something there, I have to keep pushing mine back in place! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  2. Ooh those BCCs are a pain.....or so I’ve been told. Many of my friends have had them ‘burnt’ off.....even after all the years of neglect I’ve been lucky. You also need to watch your nose Tigger

    1. Dad used to get his 'frozen' off with liquid nitrogen - or so I thought. Now I suspect what was actually happening was they were removing those 'pre-cancerous' crusty bits that I've had on my nose for years. They don't always become cancer, but the skin specialist here reckons I should get them removed annually. Cynic in me says 'touting for business!'

    1. Not so bad - the intermittent pinched nerve in the left shoulder blade kicked off that day and was infinitely more 'distracting' (F).
