Storm Season is Underway

Our little bay usually looks like this:
Calm Day

Yesterday there were even people out swimming!

Today it looks more like this:

There was an enormous crash of what sounded like a pile of sheet metal at about 0630 this morning and I spent 10 minutes racing, with spiky tail,  back and forth through the house from balcony to balcony and yelling at things.  The wind makes you do that.

I think today will have to be spent indoors watching my outdoor rug trying to fly itself.  The are building a driverless Metro in Copenhagen,  driverless cars are being developed, so why not have driverless flying carpets?

  1. Winter storms certainly make life very interesting. Ours usually result in trees crashing down on our roads, or even onto house roofs. Such fun.

    1. We listen to Winne-the-Pooh stories on CD and there is one in which Owl's House blows over. Are you talking about that kind of fun?

    1. Secretarial services have been hit'n'miss at this end. We are still locked down/up/in (and 'out' of cafes), and that means fewer things to report on. The Wee OIk was a bit of excitement to blog about, but excitement like that I can personally (feline-ly) do without. We are now to be locked up/down/in/out until 7 January. Perhaps I can persuade F to write some complete fiction instead of trying to find things around us to observe and muse over.
Stay warm and close in the embrace of your family. Furrings and purrings xxx mr T

  3. We had ‘indoor days’ recently - cold and wet. 10c as well as brief snow showers in Melbourne during December is not my idea of fun!
We’ve been warned to expect a cooler wetter summer, the BOM has been muttering about La NiƱa for a while, they can warn but we’ll all be whinging and moaning when it happens. We do like our summers nice and warm.....maybe not as warm as last year tho’
Wouldn’t a flying carpet be great Mr T....I always thought they were fitted with automatic flight controls so didn’t need drivers. No worrying about lane changes....just let it get on with it and arrive in style...well maybe a bit wind blown. Oops sorry, forgot you’re not a lover of the wind.
Lovely to see you and Miss F today. I’m only just getting out and about, hopefully I’ll be back again soon C x

    1. At least a cooler wetter summer will reduce the fire risk for this season (and possibly increase the amount of dry material available to burn next year!) see "Said Hanrahan" https://www.eachamtimes.com.au/said-hanrahan/

Pictures I have seen of flying carpets always have the pilot/passenger sitting cross-legged. If that is a prerequisite for getting them to operate controllably, then I'm schickered. xxx Mr T

  4. Stay safe Tigger. We are all doing a lot of sleeping at the moment. Who wants to go out in the cold and wet? Mum is having to empty the litter tray more these days.

    1. RRPWP - Yup - it's sleeping season alright. It's dark late in the morning and early in the evening and Mr B sits in his armchair with a rug over him - which is an invitation to sleep on his legs. How are you guys getting on with the screen games - sussed it yet? xxx mr T
