Craft Report

Thursday this week was very calm; what F describes as a 'fair' day.  Not too hot, not too cold, a bit of overcast, virtually no breeze....  The day started so clear that we could easily see Poros, the wind turbines on the top of the Peloponnese behind Poros, and even the wind turbines on St George's island way (way, way) down the Gulf.

Closer to home we spotted these two out on their personal craft:

Sculler

Paddleboarder

And F finished this plate-cover after three attempts (two finishes got unpicked and reknitted).  I know it is a plate cover because I saw it covering the plate and sitting on top of a glass way out of my reach.

...could it double as a bonnet??? It's very pretty and I admire F's determination to make it. We're a couple of months off getting a fair day round here... Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

    1. We've had this musing haven't we? Bonnets over engines...and heads. Words for round flat hats...beret, Tam, Torrie, bonnet??? We use bonnet for baby head gear or something a Puritan woman might wear (framing the face and tied under the chin), but those chillies we grew last year, called Scotch Bonnet and looking like a squashed slouch hat, suggest other styles use the name. And having grown up where the Scotch settlers spread their dialects, F knows that BONNET said with a particular accent meant hat, even a man's hat. Fs Dad used to wear a Tam. xxx Mr T

  3. No worries for those two on the water about social distancing! Mittens reckons F has knitted a mat for you to sit on when the floor is too cold - she is just waiting to surprise you with it :))

  5. The days have been very clear recently. I'm amazed you can see Poros but why not. We can see the lights of Piraeus at night.
