UFO

Unidentified Floating Object.

They'd both seen it. We had all seen it but I dismissed it as not-interesting.

Mr B mused on it for a while then the binoculars came out.

OK - it is a very long way out and  just a speck - tiny boat end on?

Guessed what kind of craft it is?

It progressed from left to right across the view on a leisurely current.  The cross wind was pushing it gradually closer to shore. So after a while we went for a walk to see if a better photo could be shot a bit west of here.

Just as we headed off the Coastguard boat that passes here most days, always going 'flat-chat', put in an appearance (going flat-chat of course) and then someone on board must have spotted the salvage opportunity and it slowed and headed toward our target.

Oh bother! Some jogging. If we can't stake our own claim we'll at least get photos of the Coastguard grappling with the uncooperative 'salvee'.

The floundering vessel was on the edge of the surf zone by then and the Coastguards clearly realized the risk to themselves of any attempt to drag the casualty free of its fate, and slid quietly back out to sea.

Amused locals with small picnics were perched in pairs on the rocks, looking on, waiting; herons watching a pond, vultures eyeing a carcass.

It's one of those skip sized wheelie-bins. Blue is a recycling bin.

Well, I'd figured it was something like a milk crate... but a wheelie bin?! Is this a new vessel for escaping islands? Is it the result of a drunken stag do?... did it, indeed, once contain evidence of something more sinister?!!! OH the tales that could be brought forth... hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

    1. Can you tell the imagination is being stretched to find things to write about? Daily household events simply don't cut it and even the Tigger is suffering the ennui. Fs & Ps F and Mr T

  5. It must of been very windy for that to end up in the water.
