Reading Blogs and Following Links

I like reading blogs.  Well to be rather more accurate I like watching moving pictures.  One of our blog-pals did a series on dances at weddings around the world and posted links to moving pictures.

I particularly liked this one and watched it transfixed, more than once - much to F's amusement.

We have recently started sticking a few links in my posts to give you the opportunity to find out more than we reveal about places we visit.   That way you can get a deeper human take on the history or design, purpose or plan of a place, and better pictures than F seems to be capable of taking - if you want it.

Question: Should we give you the whole http address thing so that you can assess it in deciding whether to follow the link - or just continue to hide it behind a bit of coloured and underlined text in the relevant part of our ramblings?

Tigger, I blushed when I saw you watching my site so intently - nice to know I have a true fan!!!

Re the links; if in the body of a post, it is always good to use the hyperlink method, otherwise the reading of the post becomes very messy. If anyone wants to see the https for themselves, all they have to do is hover over the link and look to bottom left of their screen, where the full address will be displayed - you try that out now with this one. The other thing folk can do is hover over the link, right click and chose to copy it for pasting into their search bar, if that is their preference.

If you check out the final comment here, you will see how messy it can appear if not using hyperlinks.

Unlike in YouTube, Blogger doesn't automatically hyperlink full addresses, so folk would have to highlight and then right click to copy or open in new tab anyway.

Did that help??? Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  2. either way is fine but I prefer the link hiding in colored letters, which is how i do mine and have for 10 years now.. I rather have a link or the video in stead of copy pasted info from what ever it is. that way i make the decision if I want to follow the link or not. with my talking problmen I must make ever question or answer verbose... in other words simple answer. LINK ha ha

  5. Thank you everyone - we just wondered what the feeling was about the possibility that something really nasty could be hidden in the link. We kind of like what Angus on BobnSophies blog does putting all his 'interest' links at the bottom. He does eclectic very well and we have no intention of trying to go that way.
