We have no idea what it is. The original pattern for a wrap was 72" long. F's yarn was on a cone so she had no idea how much there was. Exactly half enough it turns out. This is 36" (90cm), so too short to wrap, and a bit long and narrow to be called a baby blanket (anyway too many holes for little fingers to get caught in to be a baby blanket).
Suggestions on a postcard? One of those silly cardigans that is all sleeves and short back (and no front) perhaps?
However, at least that bit of stash has been converted. Moving on. Now for something in 'burnt' orange. Can you guess what it is yet?
My money is on a knitted sea urchin.
A burnt orange beret? Or a pumpkin for Tiggers to kick around.
ReplyDeleteYou're a clever crochet-er.
Is the baby 'blanket' too big to turn into a cowl?

ReplyDeleteOh my, F is a master-knitter - what fine and tricky patterns, pawtikularly the blue. Hmmm - one yard is still a decent length for a shoulder snug whilst sitting on cooler evenings, but where a full wrap is not required. I have two or several like that. As for the orange thaang... could there be a beret emerging? Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
the blue is such beautiful knitting, and so pretty. I have no idea, for either one but I do know you are a gifted knitter. if that is a word
ReplyDeleteThe blue one could be a lovely neck warmer
ReplyDeleteThe orange one. Maybe a cushion cover
Either way. Nice work
The orange one is a weirdly constructed garment. It is in garter stitch - which F hates - so she unpicked it after that photo and is redesigning it in stocking stitch (which of course messes with the shape, so it will be hit'n'miss how it turns out). How is your craft room going BTW?
Deletewow some very clever knitting there. I just finished a crochet blanket for B, he uses it at night when he watches tv
