Day in the Office

I have graduated from charterparties to ship-building contracts.  What I know is that ship-building contracts require a lot more coffee.  We started the day with a coffee outside a cafe I last visited almost a year ago - and they remembered me - then a visit to my favorite petfood shop.... and then to the office where I got temperature shock!

F is looking quite refreshed, but I was finding the sudden dip in temperature a bit disconcerting until F reminded me that we had brought the Igloo along with us.  We seem to have achieved a satisfactory balance.

When you come from a place like England, and you are finding it darned cold sitting indoors, you could safely bet your last dollar that it is even colder outdoors.  When you are sitting in a chilly space in Greece (or Australia I am told) looking out at a grey day, there is no guarantee that it isn't actually egg-frying temperature outside despite appearances.

That's air-conditioning for you.

Aunty Pili came round last night.  She was meant to go to Evia (an island) yesterday but her cat, Neme, went into hiding as they were due to leave and they ended up missing their bus.  We cats know when something is up.  I had it worked out last night when F started arranging things in my Donkey that it looked like we were going to the office in the morning.  I'm just hoping that F has scheduled in a stop at the butchers shop on the way home.  We passed it this morning, the doors were open and I made sure F understood that it is a place of interest.

I checked and confirmed there was chicken in the display cabinet.....

Brrrrr - one of the things I struggled with when in my corporate work down under, Mr T, was the air-con. Why folk insisted on making refigerators of the offices only to complain of the heat outside, always befuddled me. Same goes for central heating here in the UK - excessive heating does not aclimatise one to the external. Moderation, peoples, moderation!!! I am glad you had your igloo. And sure hope that chook was forthcoming for your tea. Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

    1. We so get you - in our building the heating goes off in May (May!) and those who have aircon put it on almost immediately. They seem to recognize no Goldilocks period at all. It makes you wonder how humans ever survived here or developed a civilization. (They might have had better adapted homes in the past.) Fz & Pz Mr T

  3. it makes me happy to know you get to go to the office and now be left home alone. and that you have a comfy igloo to stay warm in. when I was in the workforce, it was so cold that most of us had small heaters under our desk.. we have ac in house but keep it at 76 daytime and 78 night time so we don't freeze. tell F thanks for the info on the 'slaters' better known to us as roly polies, or pill bugs. I may do a post on what i found. had no idea they are NOT insects
