Woodturner and 'that fuzzy thing'

F has a sister.  Lots of people do.  For example F's brother has two sisters.

Mr B has two sisters.

Maybe some people have more than their share.

F's sister is married to a bloke who, among his various skills and interests, is an expert wood turner (and instructor and demonstrator of wood turning skills). Not lots of blokes get so involved in their woodturning that they build a forge to make their own woodworking tools.

We hope he doesn't mind us including a picture of one of his 'doodles' in wood.  He does loads of very cool and intricate stuff, decorative stuff, useful stuff and mixed stuff like wooden cups with pewter trim, and even turned stone. This one is a 'doodle' that demonstrated some unusual technique, or collection of techniques.

That zippered vase, in spalted wood, we photographed to show him - just because it looked fun and sometimes ideas inspire other ideas; sometimes.

As for the fuzzy thing in my last post - you will find out at the end of the month.

  2. I'm envious of those people who are skilled in this - I don't have the patience.

Keeping us in suspenders about the fuzz, then, eh? Oh well. Meanwhile, am very impressed with the woodoodle; the sort of thing one would not be able to resist holding and caressing... my own wee brother is an amateur wood turner and has some talent - but doesn't give it enough time. Like me and my crochet... Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
