That isn't rain on the window.....
...it's salt!
Today the wind had abated, the scooter had stopped screaming, and F had time to survey the devastation wrought on our balcony plants.
She swept up the dirt and salt and leaves and the broken bits of our plants that littered the balcony.
We had acquired a mop. I tried to conjure a picture of a mop flying through the air and seeking refuge on our balcony, but could only come up with images from the Sorcerer's Apprentice.
F washed the windows while I supervised from the inside. I'm not the slightest bit nervous about having the water jet aimed at me from the outside. It bounces off the glass.

The salt on the windows and balcony had sparkled and glinted like a 1000 stars (in amongst the dirt it fetched up with), but it's gone and now we 'sparkle' in the advertising sense. We might like to hold up a fancy bottle and get a 'ching' sound and a burst of light off our dazzling smiles, but all F used was water.
There's no advertising mileage in that.

ReplyDeleteOh yes there is, Tigger dear... that is the best advertising for 'no chem cleaning'!!! Actually you'll be hearing about something similar on my blog on Thursday... Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
I, the Tigger, do no-chem cleaning every day. My humans use something called soap on their furs, but spit works just as well for a good polish. Fz & Pz Mr T
DeleteBy 'eck, that looks rough. We had something similar here last week.
ReplyDeleteWe've had the pestilence and the flood, just need to light the fire now.
Famine?
DeleteOh, Tigger…it’s up to you to make chores more entertaining by swiping your paw at the water, or some such silliness. :-)
ReplyDeleteI just point out the smear bits. F says there is a line of nose marks on the inside, about nose height from the floor. I don't know what she's talking about.
DeleteI only took photos. Your video has the real show and tell. And a new mop 😅 . What a sight from your balcony. Better than the telly
ReplyDeleteWe were waiting for roof tiles to fly but everything looks solid.
Flying roof tiles - now that beats a flying mop any day.
Deletethe videos are excellent and i watched each twice, it is the true picture of the storm. I clean my glass with water in a spray bottle and microfiber cloths. we have always done that with our cars also. a tiny drop of liquid dawn and everything shines. wow, mops are expensive, hope this is one you can use. glad it did not come through your window. when we go to our beaches here, the cars have to be washed when back home because the salt floats through the air onto everything.
ReplyDeleteWe might not be much into plastics here, but those microfibre cloths are magic when it comes to cleaning.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wild time with all that wind
ReplyDeleteI don’t like the damage the wind does. But it is nice to be snug as a bug inside
While the storm rates outside
Especially if we have the fire going. So cosy. Bliss
