Remarkably less fuel tax there and that possibly needs to change to get people out of cars. It is a small and very well developed country, so the public transport thing for the whole country would be easier than one large old European city.
Gail's experience of cycling through Luxembourg (on a 'Five Country Tour' - Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Germany - that was a lot less strenuous than it sounds) was that the in the countryside the drivers were the most manic and least bicycle friendly of any country in Western Europe. If only the Luxembourg citizens really would all stick to public transport...
They didn't try the countryside and think the suburban drivers have had personailty implants since then. Those even stopped at non-existent pedestrian crossings to let my old folk cross. Maybe white hair helps?
Very amazing . There was a bus every 5 minutes on some routes and every 10 on the suburban loops yet the streets are still full of moving private cars What is wrong with humans? (It is likely less well serviced by public transport in the countryside but still free.)
That sculpture is amazing. A very pleasing scene. We have some people from Luxembourg who live on the island. One lot is building a stone house nearby. I presume they're here for the weather. Totally different culture
I agree with everyone else, totally amazing in these days of everyone trying to make money off of any service. make me wonder how they pay for it, I am thinking high taxes on the people who live there. that is how our country funds things, each state different. like in Florida we don't pay state tax, but we pay 10 percent on fuel at the pump and property tax and all items purchased add 7 percent except on food. someone is paying for the free stuff is what i am saying.. maybe other countries need to study how they do it
Wow. That’s great. Our government is still taxing our fuel at 44% even thought it’s really hurting lower income families

ReplyDeleteImagine what good it could do the environment if all places were like that, AND people used it :)
