Tummy Button of the Earth

I believe they said 'navel' but it's the same thing.  When you have 1000's of square miles of land and sea available to you to choose from, why here?

And what kind of salesman do you have to be to convince an entire civilization that not only are you right, but that the belly button is the most important bit?

My belly button is hidden in fur.

This one is on a precipitous tree clad hillside surrounded by some cliffs.

Not far from here Mount Parnassus is snowclad and currently hosting 1000s of skiers. Our host has a live feed picture in reception.  The neighbouring town - which clearly makes its money out of snow tourists - is jam-packed with people in colourful winter clothes (and the occasional fur coat) sitting outdoors drinking equally colourful (but possibly less furry) cocktails.

Delfi (or Delphi) is not jam packed. That's why we came in February. In fact I suspect we might be the only people in our hotel. We have the whole bar, dining room, balcony, and view to ourselves.

Looking into the setting sun from the main balcony

First things first for humans - they seem to need to drink coffee and eat baklava. Did you notice the clove? Mr B carefully extracted it from his slice of food, and the minute she spotted it F snaffled it. Chomp chomp chomp.

Tomorrow is the first Sunday in February. I understand we are going to look at some more very old human stuff.

PS - Mr B pointed out the more interesting (to me) view from the balcony.

Chickens.....

  1. Tigger I am with you today, those chickens are high on my list of interesting. I am thinking you liked the smell as well as the looking.. wow, a whole hotel just for the 3 of you. that is what i would like. the less people around the better i like places.. it doesn't look like a belly button OR a navel from here

Ooh, you are on another trip away from the satellite dish, then, Tigger? I must say, that is quite the view - whether into sunsets or open chook coops! Crowd-free hotels sound like fun too... hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  3. Stunning pics
Not sure about the navel. If there is on then it had an umbilical cord and that cord must be connected to something or someone else.
Now that end I’d love to see

  4. Eew, I'm not so sure about that chomping clove bit :)
Mittens says to keep an eye on those chickens, they can be pretty vicious if they want to be as they are generally not that fond of us kitties!
