Like London buses: none for ages then three come along together.
Today on our way to work we passed a yellow donkey called JCB stamping round holes in the street. He was making a noise like a machine gun. (I've never heard a machine gun first hand, but you can see them and hear them on TV.) Our streets really don't need any more holes. They already have more patterns on them than one of F's patchwork quilts. Maybe JCB was putting in some earthquake protection. Everyone knows that stuff never rips where it's perforated.
One block further down another yellow donkey called Komatsu was pushing out a dead tree on the corner of the Tuesday laiki. There was noise and commotion and people in yellow vests waving their arms at traffic. Donkeys get a lot of attention.
We hadn't gone another 100yards when a third yellow donkey called International chuntered past with some fuel drums in a bucket held out in front of him.
See? Three of them in the space of two city blocks. I reckon I should be driving a yellow donkey with a big bucket on the front to put F's 'stuff' in. That would really get everyone's attention.

Oh they make so much noise
ReplyDeleteAt the moment we have lots of “donkeys” no matter what route you take
Men in bright vests holding signs and waving arms. It’s a real pain in the neck
And once done. They have to come back a few months later because like f’s quilt
There are holes that need patching.

ReplyDeleteOh yes, you would totally boss a big yellow donkey with forward tub, Tigger mate!!! Is it worth offering to F that she could at least paint the current Donkey - YOUR one and only, who might be called Tigger's Digger??? Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
Those yellow donkeys sure have great names :)
ReplyDeleteLittle donkey, little donkey
ReplyDeleteOn the dusty road
Gotta keep on plodding onward
With your precious load
Sing along with me now.....
I have a suggestion for your bed. customize it with glued on wheels and headlights and maybe a small bucket, paint it yellow and then put your arm out the window. it made me laugh because you look just like Beaus daddy does when driving with the window down. I bet all the workers and drivers of those yellow donkeys were surprised and happy to see you in your donkey... I love JayCee poem
ReplyDeleteforgot to say, yes Angel Big had long toes and nails. they were hard to trim because the nails and the part that bleeds if cut were all black. the vets office had to be careful not to cut the wrong place.
ReplyDeleteYou have reminded F to cut my fingernails. I had a go at giving her an ear piercing this morning.
DeleteOh JayCee got there first - was just about to post the same! Looking col on your perch there Tigger I think!
ReplyDeleteIs it an English song? My kiwi huMum doesn't know it (which might be fortunate or she would sing it at me)..
DeleteDo you know the JCB song Tigger? It was a chart hit several years ago.
ReplyDeleteNot familiar with that one Dave. Post us a link😹😉
DeleteDont you wish they would fix the roads once and for all, our NZ roads are full of potholes and not good for the cars.
