Water. I don't care for it in the least.
Over the weekend water stopped coming out of the spouts over the sink, hand basin, and shower that F uses. On Saturday it became obvious about mid-afternoon that water had reduced to a dribble and eventually stopped. F discovered that the outdoor tap in the parking bays still delivered a dribble and rinsed her hair under that when she got back from her evening swim and we were still without water.
It must have come back in the darkness hours after midnight as water gushed out of the spouts when she tried in the morning, but it went off again in the afternoon on Sunday as well. More swimming in the sea and rinsing and filling water bottles under the dribble from the outdoor tap downstairs.
By Monday morning it seemed to be back to normal, so F went off for her swim only to discover no water when she got back. By the time we left for work (following another cursory rinse of F's hair in the parking lot) it appeared to be back in force and apart from from burping and belching it has remained more or less available for use since then.
On Saturday our neighbour from upstairs said 'demotiko' when asked about the 'nero', so we assume someone was working on the delivery infrastructure.
Usually when electricity is going to be unavailable notices go up in the neighbourhood to warn us all. I saw not notices. F saw no notices. No one got any warning to fill the bath, or top up their bottled water supply; and the ons and offs were pretty randomly timed.

Tigger, these photos make me feel happy and joyful. and how dare they mess with the water and not give warning. our city sends voice mails and emails and gives info it will be random. sometimes they post a signs on the street that will be worked on causing them to turn off water. we had a good nights sleep, no booms and a nice rain. I first contacted the tree guy on June 8th, gave him the deposit a few days later, he said then that it would be after the 4th, that he could not give me a date. I was fine with that. then part of the tree fell on the house and I called and he came and said the day after the 4th, that it did need to come down. waiting to see what happens

Or that is to say, have them to warn folk they may be without for some time... hey ho. Councils are the same the world over! Still, as long as the weed is good, you don't care, right cool cat? Hmmm, I see where you are quite relaxed about whether or not there is water, your humans might get a little nutty and anxious. I would not be happy if I couldn't take a shower or (gasp) be unable to have their tea.....
ReplyDeleteYou really do have a beautiful coat Tigger…I wonder what it would look like after a wash and brush up with warm water. My Burmese friends (sadly now gone over the bridge) loved to have a bath in warm water but then you are a Tabby of Unknown Ancestry so perhaps something ‘not nice’ put you off the stuff.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pain in the proverbial to have your water supply disrupted like that, even if you are not that fond of it Tigger. Hopefully it will all be okay now.
ReplyDeletehaving no water is a bit frustrating, good they sorted it out, as for the heat I'm with Tigger on that one, I don't do well in hot temperatures.
