Boat Trip

From our new seaside world-viewing platform we could hear putt-putt-putt-putt and a little boat came bobbing round the headland. The two people sitting at the back, a man and a woman, might have been of an age beyond their working years, chatting in that relaxed, familar way of lifelong friends, just out for a 'turn' in their little boat on a nice evening.

Their boat had a canopy, and even a life ring attached to its little mast.

Puttering towards the sunset.
A bit later we spotted them further out at sea going back the other way, the boat working a little harder in the swell from a long past ferry, the humans still sitting knee by knee, the happiest couple on the sea.

I bet they were holding hands.

  1. What a beautiful scene painted by these words and photos, and simply thinking about this happy old couple gives great pleasure.

Aw Tigger, you have a romantic streak! But I agree, a lovely scene and hard not to imagine the contentment in that wee boat. Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  5. that tiny boat in the very large expanse of water scares me silly. it really does have a soothing effect, the photo I mean, and I can hear the putt putt from your words. they look happy and that is what counts these days. the little things are what matter.
