Green Walls

Green isn't a common house colour around here. We have saved photos of a few we have seen. Out of town (on our travels) we have seen some reaaly bright lime green houses, but that taste hasn't made its way into Piraeus.

We've seen even darker ones than this, which really are way to sombre to even photograph!

This below is a more usual shade if we see green. Not sure about the choice of trim colour though.
This one with coloured shutters was eye-catching.

  2. A friend visiting to Aberdeen, who came from a part of the world where the houses are painted bright colours, once asked how I could live with so much grey stone and asked why people don't paint their houses. It's a question I often ponder here on a dull and cloudy morning. The hard granite is at least low maintenance, even if claims that the mica minerals sparkle like diamonds in the sunshine are somewhat exaggerated!

  4. I like those bright colored shutters, the first one is to dark for my taste, you have seen on my blog that Florida has gone crazy with colors, more and more each day...

  5. You really need brilliant sunshine for these colors to glow instead of looking overdone. The sun washes the color down a bit.

  6. I don't mind colours on houses (any colour) as they show individuality of expression. What I do dislike are rules enforcing uniformity to make a suburb all look alike - which becomes incredibly boring.
