F modified the middle section of patterning because the hat is rather a long one and first recipients complained of it travelling down over their eyes.

1000s. Hats there are a squillion of. I used to have somewhere an exquisite crochet cloche hat pattern. Trouble is once I have made as many as I can give away of something, I move on. The pattern may never be seen again. If I find it, I'll send it to you. Xxx F

ReplyDeleteI’ve downloaded the pattern. And I’m thinking rather than knitting the pattern. I’d use the magic stripe yarn. And the pattern will knit itself. And it will be neater in the inside so no need to go add a lining
Although the ear flaps would be nicer lined.
I was going to mention self patterning yarn as an alternative. I line them for warmth (i use alpaca on the inside) rather than anything else but it has the added benefit of saving sewing in 3 or 4 ends (such a hardship, I know, but i wish ends would just magic themselves away and lining does that too.)
