Parkview Square

Extreme art deco.

Napier must be envious (Kiwis know what I am talking about). (Napier.)

Give me a lens angle wide enough and a place to stand.... and I could have demonstrated that it is actually symetrical. You just have to imagine that.

Bit heavy isn't it when you cosider the light airiness that can be achieved in modern steel and glass,  or the graceful verandahed villas of a few decades earlier than this, but it is still here and still making its statement.

  1. I think someone got an idea and ran with it. Ran and ran.

  2. something is wrong with your blog. all of Tigger is gone, this is all I can see, just this post, no side bar, no old tiggers posts, and it will only let me use Anonymous... this is really nice and not something i would expect in singapore.. that would take a really wide lens to get it all. 1. Weird - blogger has all sorts og weirdnesses that pop up suddenly then just as suddenly go away. I haven't changed anything. I miss that cat too. I'd love one of his deflating cooments about pretentiousness or pomposity to drag things back to esrth from time to time.

    1. Ahhhh...there are a few blogs i read where comments are a separate page - you lose the post you are commenting on, or lose the comment if you try to flip. Looks like TWB might have become similarly afflucted. I thought that style was a choice of the blog owner, or part of the 'theme' they use.

    1. It is not unappealing but better in its isolation. An entire city of these would be a challenge to contemplate. The building around it will make another post.

  5. Love old buildings and these are a bit more grand than little old Napier.

  7. Solid and dependable architecture but a little goes a long way.
