Fibonacci Spiral

The beautiful dahlia was photographed in the garden of a tearoom visited on last Saturday's cycle ride (Southwick). I remembered there is some kind of magic spiral (mathematical formula for it) that explains nature's arrangements like this and looked it up. 

Most explanations like to use sunflower seed heads for illustration - yeah - I have one of those, so I give you.....

  7. Love dahlias. I’m trying to work out where I can plant more.
    There is a staircase in the Vatican that when you look down it from the top is a Fibonacci Spiral.
    I was totally mesmerised by the sight of it. It was beautiful
