Apparently 'The Black Spot' curse was a Robert Louis Stevenson creation in Treasure Island.
Wee Jock turned up with a black spot a couple of weeks ago. We rubbed it. We gingerly sniffed it. Brushed it. Wiped it. All to no avail.
Not oil or grease (obvious choice around here). Might be soot if he had been scavenging in the burn heap, but very precise. Won't wash out. A hair dye encounter? 🤔

(Yes, the end of Fergus' tail is black but he was born with the painted tail.)
And No, I haven't been practising spray paint on them, or clearing paint nozzles, but someone seems to have done so.)
How strange. Hopefully it doesn't bother them?
ReplyDeleteNothing bothers these guys except humans not sharing carrots.

ReplyDeleteRight then lads, own up... you've been hitting the local dogging club and that's your all-night pass, isn't it? Go on, fess it... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
We sleep all night (and most of the day).
DeleteIt’s a strange mystery. I hope you figure it out.
ReplyDeleteNo one cares - it's just amusing.
Deletethat is totally weird! maybe a child with a spray can? but I don't think so because they would do more and the spots are perfectly the same, just different location. maybe laying under something that rubs on it? if it were oil or something like that it would have an odor.
ReplyDeleteThe ginger cat next door to my parents used to appear with a black ring around his nose....Clive liked licking car exhausts. He was quite the character and we missed him when he shuffled off his mortal coil. Arilx
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute though. The black spot could be oil or grease?
