Like some weird attempt at a crown |
 |
… or maybe a circus tent |
The bulky wool is about as forgiving as a kevlar vest but it is warm.
Considering embellishments
How much do I dislike sewing up knitted or crocheted garments? Enough to knit jumpers in one piece, even picking up stitches to knit down doubled over bands, linings and facings. And I crochet components together on crocheted work
… as in this armhole seam. With yarn at the back I do double crochet on alternate sides spacing them so they zig zag neatly zipping the two edges together. Here's an example in two colours…

Crocheting edges rules. So much easier than stitching.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting 'circus tent'. It certainly looks thick and warm.
ReplyDeleteI also crochet as many edges as I can. So much easier. Looks better too
I don't have enough patience for stitchery.
ReplyDeleteI do like your crown!
I hate seams, like you..I knit jumper sleeves out from the ( one piece knitted) body makes it easier to re-knit sleeves when they wear too

ReplyDeleteOh I agree, the stitching bit is a total pain, and I too, where it is possible (and mostly it is) join with other crochet stitcing... or do single piece garments! That's why the 'summer jacket' pattern I have shared is a dream. I love your take on a Pakul!!! YAM xx
It looks like an elaborate trinket box.
ReplyDeleteI’m like you. That’s why I love love love the all in one sweater
ReplyDeleteCrocheting a border makes some very lovely edging
It all looks fiendishly clever to me - I wish I had the dexterity and patience.
ReplyDeleteWhen I've knitted blankets I've done them as long scarves rather than individual squares to cut down on the stitching up needed! Arilx
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have time to make a crown while building a home and playing with you sweet dog ha ha
ReplyDeleteThat looks really cool, reminds me of what people wear in places like Pakistan etc. I've just finished making 2 couch throws, one for my favourite aunt and one for my mum
