Nature Friday - Cousin Itt

These little guys are growing in the peastraw I used the mulch the vege patch.  They look almost purple in early morning light.

On a safer note - calendula have germinated

as have the tagetes (and on the vege side peas and broad beans).

In the mini tunnelhouse pak choi, Cavalo Nero kale, okra, globe artichokes and lemon grass have all put in an appearance.

It is definitely growing season here now.

  1. those toadstools are a work of art. I love the way the light gives them that blue tinge.. Light can change the colors of all things and these photos are amazing. Yay for the food starting to grow...

  4. We had a notorious lady, who only liver about half an hour away from where I am, cook a special dinner using mushrooms. It didn’t end well
I’ve not had success growing okra. I’ll be very interested in how you go

  7. Congratulations on all the sprouts! What an exciting time and season for gardeners. Still good (though dwindling) flowers in our garden on the coast of Northern California but our sunny days are numbered.
