Two nights of rain and two days of sunshine this week and…

That's cheered me up. I managed to whack my elbow into the inside of my knee today - pulling out some unbudging roots at an odd angle or something - an innocuous bump as far as my elbow was concerned, a merest nudge, and my knee has reacted as if slugged with a sledge hammer.

Lots of pain. Real grit your teeth stuff - I even had to say OUW! I've told knee to stop being a diva; the same elbow got slammed into tarmac a couple of days ago when I tripped while clearing the roadside and it's fine. Elbow got over that in the flashiest of flashes. Knee continues to sulk.
In other news lots of big lumps of gorse root came out today - the kind that make a satisfying thunk when they land in the wheelbarrow.
A selection It's a pity they aren't parsnips instead of woody old gorse. There are some interesting shapes among them.
I also had the satisfaction of levering a rock about the size of a bedside cabinet back into a hole (that I could have buried myself in) and burying it. Bro hoicked out with the digger while doing some test clearing last December and hadn't seen fit to bury it again.

ReplyDeleteNothing balmy with all that work you do... Barmy, perhaps. Especially given the injury count! I do hope that knee comes into line quick sticks. How wonderful to think of home-grown spuds - indeed, all the produce you have planted. And those views....... I totes get it! YAM xx
It's beautiful - very enticing. I hope your knee has stopped sulking now. I don't suppose it liked you pulling huge roots and manoeuvring large rocks, though.
ReplyDeleteWhat a view!!! Who cares about a bump or 2??
ReplyDeleteYou work so hard. Hope that Knee comes right quickly. Look after those limbs!!!
spuds are potatoes to me, and these don't look like potatoes. ha ha. oh no on the knee, hope its better soon. I would suggest you take a few days off and let it rest but don't want to waste my typing time. ha ha
ReplyDeletespectacular views and I do love TREES and you have plenty of those.
Spuds are potatoes here too (aka bog oranges). It's a potato tree😂
DeleteA breathtakingly beautiful spot.
ReplyDeleteElbow must have thwacked knee in a specific spot...and knees have to be weight bearing which complicates matters!
Isn't it a relief when the tatties first emerge...and then get covered again!!
Absolutely breathtaking. I hope your poor knee is feeling better soon. You don’t realise just how much you use a body part until it hurts
ReplyDeleteif you are growing things right now then you're doing well. I planted a whole lot of seedlings in my vege garden and I think the rain has ruined most of it.
ReplyDeletesomething has started nipping leaves off selected seedlings in my greenhouse thing.
