Nelson

Mr B had been promised a night out at a touring show in Nelson

...so we made our way over there on the appointed day (last Thursday) and made the opportunity to pick up a new toy we had ordered through a tool shop at Tahunanui.

New Zealand's best peanut butter (I might be partisan) is made in Stoke so our next stop was at the factory Cafe and shop to buy 10kg of peanut butter (and two cups of coffee). YES 10kg. I put peanut butter in porridge. I eat porridge every day. Over time it adds up to a lot of peanut butter.

It's cheaper (much) by the bucket.

There followed a long drag round a big hardware shop (isn't there always when it's me...? Other women shop for clothes, shoes, make-up, spa days... I'm ogling mitre saws and cabin hooks, expanding foam filler and deck stain🤪)

Mr B is eyeing up kamado cookers .... (ceramic charcoal ovens).  Better start counting my savings.....

We did visit the ReUse shop to see if they had any recycled shower trays the size we want. A long browse later we came out with antique door knobs, antique brass coat hooks, interesting latchcovers and finger plates for our recently installed sliding door, off-cuts of 8"x2" timber for building steps onto our deck and no shower tray.

Checking in at the hotel Mr B booked, we were upgraded to a lovely apartment and luxuriated in a hot shower each. I joked later with a friend that I had to have several showers - each layer of dirt removed revealed another singlet.

We enjoyed a great meal at a nearby oyster bar and restaurant, then walked to the theatre.  Here's some views of Nelson's Bridge Street for your entertainment.  No it is not a movie set.
