Domestic

You know you getting domestic (or trying to tame wilderness) when you start building fences....

.... especially relatively pointless ones.

Do any other creatures on earth fence their territories?

(To be fair, the fence in the background is less pointless - in fact it's whole objective is to deny rabbits and wekas a share of my vegetable production.)

  1. A well constructed fence can be a thing of beauty. Especially if it hides something ugly ...

Well, other critters mark their territory, so boundaries are not just human. Physical fencing, though, I think must be ours alone... YAM xx

  5. I am sure the pointless fence is not pointless because you never do anything that is not for a reason... Homestead Only Oh Might Homesteader...

  6. I like fences. First of all green things can be trained over them. Secondly they keep those critters out! Ours keep goats out but not other annoying furry things that leap straight over them

  7. Apparently good fences are good neighbours.
Our fences have to be good as they keep the stock in and out of danger

  8. Mr. Man started to build a fence - put a post in the middle of the yard...It stayed there for a century It seemed, Tired of the pointless post It was removed by a hired person, It was so well secured, to get it out was too much of a chore for me. We still do not have a fence, but I have only been waiting for 38 years...can't rush these things you know...

  9. Fences can be good, intruders can see to stay out, whether they do or not is another matter, have a great week.
