Mr B bought me a new laptop. The old one is probably 15-16 years old. The problem with new tech is that you lose days that you will never get back out of your life getting things set up, working out where they have hidden the essentials in the clever new layouts, working out how to block the ads and all the other shite the system tries to sell or push onto me, and uninstalling all the useless 'apps' that come already installed and taking up space and processing capacity (and the associated data consumption).
At last I am typing on a full sized keyboard again and have keys that move the cursor back and forth. Yay! The photos are still on the phone so to some extent, from a blogging point of view, this is a step backwards. I have got used to words and photos all together on the phone - even if it was a one finger typing experience.
Being Easter this weekend, I have promised not to work. Well - not work hard. I think that means no gorse clearing, no digging postholes, possibly it means not shifting any compost heaps. Therefore I got some small big jobs out of the way on Thursday afternoon while Mr B was out riding around on his motorbike - shifted a pile of posts, dragged the big tomato pots away from the sunny wall and emptied their old compost into a needy piece of dirt where I am trying to make garden, oiled some of the weather boards that are already looking a bit faded already....
'Not work' is stuff like pulling up old pumpkin vines, poking some light branches through a shredder, moving a few trays of baby plants around - and all the usual stuff like cooking meals, doing dishes, doing laundry, keeping the place from turning into a tip site, and ensuring the fridge is well stocked with beer and wine. There's more but that is another post.
For those who celebrate Easter I hope yours was a peaceful one.

Congratlations on the new pooter..things they think you'll want but can't get rid of or they will upset the system are a pain!! ( and use too much space)
ReplyDeletedo you have google photos? With blogger I add photos from there.
fb. it has to be from the thing that took the photo..
Nice new toy! No more fat finger typos! 😁
ReplyDeleteYour not-work sounds exhausting to me 🥹

ReplyDeleteHope your Easter Sunday was peaceful and lightly productive! We are having wintry showers for ours - the hillsides seen from the window have turned white... YAM xx
Is there ever a no work day for women
ReplyDeleteDoing lots of little things add up to keeping the home a wonderful, place to live.
It’s truly amazing to see what happens ever. After one day of not keeping on top of things
You can transfer your photos to the new laptop using USB cord, of if you have a Google account, from phone to Google Photos, which is what I do... blogger works with both ways. looks good from here, I am holding one that looks just like yours.
ReplyDeleteI went outside to do some of the cutting vines and bushes and pruning and then started to feel guilty for working on Easter and stopped and came here and rid this.. I can't sit still if there are things to DO until they are done. OLD age is making that hard but I keep doing it
I bought the leaf blower a few weeks ago and yesterday I put together a new lawn mower and mowed the grass and mucled leaves. I got a rechargable one, no gas, no oil just a poisonous battery that might explode. I love it and the blower, and am now starting to become your doppelganger
ReplyDeleteA day off that many of us (me!) would regard as rather taxing.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your swish new laptop!
I do hope you have company who also takes part in ‘no work’ days alongside you
ReplyDeleteThere’s no way I could blog from a phone, at least there’s a proper (sort of) keyboard on my iPad.
A beautiful new laptop....and once things are set up, it should be a much better place to do your blogging!
