Ocean Bay in the Port Underwood Sound isn't the easiest place in the world to get to but maybe that protects it from human overload.
Saturday was a day of bleak weather but rain held off long enough for us to get there (over 20km of steep, winding, narrow, gravel road with evidence of many recent wash-outs in flooding we've experienced in the last 12 months of so. It took the Council Roads team most of the summer to repair last winter's wash-outs. The road is open but not restored in the sense that some of the washed out corners are a just a 'track' with a steep eroded drop on the down-side.

There is a farm, and three or four holiday houses which clearly belong to intrepid folks. It's a great place to take a seaside holiday however. A midwinter grey day possibly doesn't show it at its best.
