Scully and I noticed pollen being swept into lines where incoming and outgoing flows met and interacted.
By the time we were on the return leg of our walk the lines had spiralled.
We were in the first week of August - the pollen lines have been appearing on the suface of puddles and rainwater trapped in the wheelbarrow for a couple of weeks.
How interesting! Can you swim in that water? Is the swirl like a dangerous whirlpool or just a gentle pretty wave kind of thing. Your spring is coming, my fall is thinking of coming.
We swim out there in summer but its shallow at low tide, a bit muddy in places and has lots of oysters which slice up feet, hands, knees (anything that scrapes over them). Its just a surface swirl - scum lines mixing together.
Artists try to replicate such visual interest but there you are- best art in the universe, at your doorstep. Spring? I always forget that you are opposite. Our flowers are leggy and looking weak, tomatoes are ripening, the air changing ever so subtly. It has been a lovely summer.

ReplyDeleteThe pine plantations across the way. Possums are loving it - they flock in to eat the pollen thingies.

It looks so attractive, but pollen is a torture to the afflicted.
