Gander

It's raining on and off. I saved F from a thorough wetting during our morning walk by insisting on a left turn - which cut it way short.  Do you think she is grateful? Here am I confined in the caravan watching her knit stuff and drink coffee.

Yesterday was breezy (well windy and wild at times - blow your hat off stuff) and a public holiday.  My people went off somewhere so I had to spend the day supervising F tearing through something called a TO-DO list.  She said that the week had been too hot for moving dirt and that even shredding gorse in the shade was a trial of endurance so stuff had all piled up.

The only piles I see are dirt - and they are quite handy for running up to get closer to the sky when Mr B is flying that big bumblebee thing of his.  I chase it up and down all over the place barking at it.

F has a stye on her eyelid. Humans should have eyebrows like mine and you wouldn't have to be seld-conscious about having purple eyelids.

F also said I have to report that in addition to a wide range of oriental cabbage seedlings she now has beetroot, okra, cucumbers, and corn (big deal🙄 - there aren't any emojis of a terrier doing an eyeroll). There are spuds coming up in her garden, the tomatoes are starting to flower, and she planted some yams (occa).

I wish the bones I plant would multiple.

Oh and she said those things wearing green collars are Yacon - they have leaves pushing out of the ground too.

Lots of people came by at various times over the long weekend to have a gander at the building progress. F gave away some plants that she said were surplus to requirements - someone else can suffer the nasty prickly gooseberry thing she had 'temporarily' poked in the ground by the gate. It hindered games of football. The visits meant I got to socialize (one at a time) with Jim, Rosie, Duke, and Wally. They are all about my size.

Duke and Wally are father and son, - tricolour Pembroke Welsh Corgis - and I'm still older than both of them.  They holiday at the house on the other side of mine where my friend Ted the chocolate Labrador used to live.  I took Ted in hand when he was a puppy and showed him how to go visiting and who had the best treats to hand out. Ted eventually became known round the community as the Mayor (does that make me the power behind the mayor?) but his humans moved away just before F got here. I was lost and lonely for a while but F is an acceptable substitute I guess,  but she needs to be more devoted to my tummy rubs, especially on boring days like this.

Yours
