Rumour has it that my bees are leaving; being sold and moved
away! Despite Mr B’s efforts we’ve had 3
swarms from 2 hives already this year and they’ve all gone over and annoyed
some neighbours - who really ARE
annoyed.
Mr B and F got them back again, but the neighbours really
aren’t best pleased. ‘Pity really. We’ll miss our little buzzy friends.
We’ve got a colony in reserve at a nearby farm. Maybe they’ll come back in the Autumn.
Meanwhile up at the allotment, the insect end of my Hotel El
Gato has attracted solitary bees who have been really busy laying eggs and
plugging holes. So we have still got some
pollinators.
