Blackened Food

I guarded the oven for ages.  It didn't exactly smell like chicken but you can never be too sure with our oven  it usually smells like the last thing cooked in it.  It whirred away, and I waited patiently.

Then these black things came out.

That's not roast chicken!

F seems to like it though, and eats it with a lot of garlic (I know because I sleep on top of her).

Cats put up with a lot from their humans.

    1. Melitzania here (and we suspect also in Italy). How does one thing get so many names?

  2. I cooked eggplant as well for dinner. Only I stuffed them with minced pork onions herbs and spices. With a small handful of cheese on top. Oh my they were yummy

    1. Now that's more like it...pork I can like. F says they don't have a lot of flavour, it's what you add to them that really makes the dish. She usually bakes hers in slices in a compost of whatever vegetables are getting a bit wilted in the fridge; the compost boiled into a sauce with a lot of tomatoes first then layered with slices of those black (sometimes striped) things , and crumbled feta on top. Regardless of the variations, that doesn't appeal to cats either.

  3. Hmmm nice black things. I prefer them with pork or beef too. We will have chicken in our oven tonight. I'd save some for you but others of your species will probably get in there first for any, if any, leftovers

  4. Perhaps I can come and live with you- all in all your place looks and sounds much more attractive to cats. Any DOGs around?
