We have had a few of these visitors too. I think they are the rose beetle in 'My family and other animals'. My husband says when he was a kid they used to tie them with a cotton thread and swing them round their heads. Not done nowadays I hope by small boys. Chrisomiga I think they're called here.

Rose Beetle sounds good. I can remember that. We've got no roses so no harm will be done around here (to roses or beetle).

We used to get lots of these at Christmas. Pretty sure they are the same.
