Playground on MY Van

MY van is parked under the building. Earlier in this season we are calling winter, we had a few blusterous days.  Some of them even ran over into the nights.

Waves crashed on rocks and salt from the foaming spume was caught up by the air currents as they continued their mad dash from water to land.  The salt was flung against everything no doubt, but it is at is most obvious on our windows, and MY van.

There might be some dust in that mix as well.  Dust is legion hereabouts.

Poor wee van.

Wait, it gets worse! Much worse.

We (all three of us) went down the other day to extract from the van a piece of storage kit that could do with a 'redesign', and what did I notice?  Well you couldn't help but notice; the bonnet is covered in cat footprints and cat-backside marks, and the windscreen looks like they have been using it as a playground slide.

Liberties.

Local cats have been taking liberties.  We have even discovered that one climbs up into the engine compartment and uses it as a motel.

F built them some motels and Efy (from upstairs) has provided them with a huge furry 'slipper' and assorted polystyrene and cardboard boxes for their comfort, so why would any normal cat crawl in the engine compartment of a van that hasn't been anywhere for over 3 months?  It is not like it's warm.

Later, I went out on the back balcony and hurled some abuse at the cheeky sods.

Photos of playground on my van didn't work so you will just have to use your imagination. Mr B lifted the bonnet today to find a feline sitting on top of the engine cover and fur stuck all over the anti-vibration stuff on the inside of the bonnet (hood to some people) - bonnet or hood, words for things that keep human heads warm are a strange choice of name for a metal lid over an internal combustion engine.

...well, not if you consider that the hood is keeping the engine warm - and the rain out! Cats and engines. A classic that one and there are many tales of feline fricasee down a motorway or two. I am just glad you are not so inclined, Mr T. Hurl all the abuse you wish at those rascals!!! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  2. I like to sit on our cars when they come home as the hood is so warm, but I certainly wouldn't want to sleep inside the motor part. I like putting paw prints all over the windscreen as well, to let my humans know that I am the boss around here! Much purring, Mittens 😻
