Bottom of the Compost Bucket

If you have read this week's posts you know I am really scraping the bottom of the compost bucket - quite literally - for observations to post about.

So here are pictures of boats going past.... (in order of passage)

boat towed one way.....
crane barge towed back...

F has started working standing up.  It makes supervision slightly more difficult, but means I get more fur-smoothing-outs.  I can live with the trade-off.

Mr B is painting the rusting lid of the old tea-caddy.  You don't suppose he is also scraping the bottom of the barrel of things to do too?

Pawssibly - then again it's keeping him out of mischief, right? Mind you, painting lids of tins makes my trawling the archives for thirty year old photos of Koi Carp look purrfeck for the feeling of the day!!! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
Pee Ess - Maybe F could look at joining in the A-Z challenge. That focuses the posting mind!!!

    1. So is that A-Z in pictures, A-Z of random thoughts, or A-Z of food items in our cupboards? C is for Catfood by the way.
In first lockdown F and her nephew did the colour co-ordinated food challenge. The red meals and the green meals were easy, the orange one was weird but was doable, by the time they got to yellow (tumeric, saffron and lemons) they got tired of it and gave up.

The link was in my reveal post - but you can go to the main site here to discover more. The alphabet is yours to play with - if you use their link through to the list of those already registered, you can explore the variety. I choose about ten other blogs to then follow and comment on (occasionally going to others at random). Mainly it benefits the blogger as a sort of discipline, but when I did this the first time (three years back), I gained five new blog buddies from it! Although I have revealed a photo theme, yesterday I got a headblast and think I may be also running the alphabet on Wild YAM and maybe even Instagram. Crazy... or is it because of 'stir craziness'?! So long since had any decent goals... Yxx

I can tell you exactly what that it is... its a KALANCHOExHOUGHTONII hybrid. As another has told you, the berry is CALLICARPA, aka 'beautyberry'.

    1. It's definitely beautiful, but it also looks poisonous. However, we have now read you can make jam out of them. That possibly makes them a bit like the oranges on our street - no normal person would eat them, but with the addition of enough sugar.....

  3. I love the posts about the boats the go past your place
If I had that view nothing would ever get done
I would spend my life just sitting and watching
Lockdowns are very hard indeed. Stay strong

    1. The coastguard boat is rushing past as we reply. Mostly the boats close enough for a decent photo are tiny fishing boats. We like watching those - especially the rowed ones. Yeah - that small! xxx Mr T
