It has been a bit cold

...or are we just turning into Mediterranean whimps?

Is 4 degrees C cold?  What about 9?

Saturday: I went to the laiki, to greet my fans, and supervise the buying of vegetables, and while it was great in patches of sun, the shady bits were shivery. I was pleased to get home and convinced F I should be allowed to spend the afternoon in the top cupboard.

Now I can smell chicken cooking. How do I get down from here?  Cooking chicken needs close and expert supervision. Mr B can't be trusted to do this on his own and F is going out somewhere.

Sunday: (Chicken distracted me.)

F wasn't home when Mr B went to bed so I crawled into bed with him. I've never been inside the bed before. I was all nice and toasty warm at last and F arrived only to waft in loads of cold air and look (and sound) surprised that there was a toasty warm fur-thing in the bed.

I crawled out and parked myself on top again. Sigh!

Today the sun is shining. I am pretending to be a lizard.

    1. Most K9 fur doesn't seem to have a lot of insulation about it. They could be forgiven for feeling cold.

  3. Mr Lizard, I hope that sun is warming your fur. The same sun a few miles south east/west/whatever is frigid.
Come and curl up in front of our roaring fire. That's warm!!!

  4. Yep. 4C is cold, and 9C is none too warm either!

  5. Well Tigger, I and my cycling friends consider 4 degrees the minimum acceptable temperature for a comfortable bicycle ride. Does that help? Cheers, Gail.

    1. It only helps if one is actually riding the bike. As a passenger I regard that as a bit brassic. Gail, we were really sad to read about Bertie reaching the end of his alloted time on earth. He gave us all so much entertainment and he was clearly deeply loved, and loved you back.

    1. We don't run the heating either. My humans seem to regard heating in Greece as decadence (there are loads of blankets, woolly jumpers and sheepskin slippers being pressed into service however, and special insulated mittens for outdoors), but there was snow on the mountains around Athens this week. I think digging my way under the doona was a perfectly valid use of available resources. xxx Mr T

  7. as much as I love our lizards, I have to say you are much better looking than they are. wow, IN the bed. So it is true with mice/F is away the cat will play. YES, 4 and 9 is Cold and here in Florida I just got back from walking Beau and it is 5 and the wind makes if feel like 2. We went from 30 to 4 overnight. had a terrible storm that tore up a lot of upper half of Florida, but did nor harm us. We also had the dreaded Time Change and I want my hour Back.

    1. When really bad stuff happens somewhere in the world we all seem to be so focused on it, that the rest of the world vould be consumed in natural disaster and it doesn't make the news. Was there much damage ftom your storm? People made homeless? Cats seeking refuge? xxx Mr T

  9. Four degrees C usually results in us having a light frost, so I think you were fully justified to look for all the warmest spots you can find to curl up in.
