Fish and Frogs

It rained fish and frogs out there last night.  I know, I know, humans usually say it 'rained cats and dogs', but I have a fundamental objection to that metaphor that some of my blog-pals might identify with.

Inclemency has remained the order of the day, and yet (and yet) the small humans turned up accompanied by big humans who seemed determined to go on a bike ride starting from my house.

Good luck to them.

F is working.  I am supervising.  Mr B is Nana-sitting (she gets anxious on her own these days).

Our allotment is probably under water again, but F assures me that work will continue in the New Year and I will have lots to supervise and report on.  We might do some seed ordering tonight.  I want catnip seeds, and some valerian root.

Do you think that is too much to ask?

  1. Tigger, we are all wondering what the valerian root is for, is it like weed for cats?

    1. Princess, Rowan, Willow and Polly - ask your Mum to go and buy some Valerian tea and let you have the tea bags to play with. Paw smacks Mr T

Certainly not, Tigger mate; the very least F could do is supply you with endless catnip. Privilege of age and standing and all that. As for rain - it has been stair rods up this way. They make a noise when they hit the windows that has me checking regularly for cracks! Of course, there's not a bit of metal in sight when I go looking. Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  3. Mittens and sister Millie agree with you Tigger. They much prefer the phrase "raining fish and frogs" - I shall have to remember it myself, so as not to offend them anymore :)

  5. if all else fails and the seeds do not come for your valerian and catnip, you can always hire your beautiful self out as a model, and earn the cash to buy what ever you desire. sorry about the flooded allotment.

    1. F is going to take some root cuttings off the catnip in our backyard to make a bigger supply. Valerian might take a bit of online hunting down.

  6. No I don’t think it’s too much to ask.
We keep getting told it’s going to rain here. But it never eventuates
So I’ve kept watering the veggies
It’s way to muggy to go outside today. Unless one has gills

  7. We’re enjoying not being wet but that thrill will grow old when the grounds as hard as concrete. And it’s getting that way sooner than later.
There have been a few storm clouds gathering today but once they’ve shown you their colours (grey, white with a patch of black) they disperse and make their merry way elsewhere with dropping an ounce of liquid never mind bucketing down cats and dogs or fish or frogs
