Boud, over at Field and Fen blog, provides loads of artistic inspiration in her blog. A recent one was some charming corrugated cardboard art, so I have tried my hand (or paw) at a version of my own.
What do you think? Venice Biennale? I could have quite a body of work prepared by the time of the next one.
If you refer to that valuable reference Why Cats Paint, you'll find a great analysis of this expression of the feline condition. A moving expression of feline protest against human repression. A call to paws.
ReplyDeleteI have instructed my human to buy a copy. It should be arriving in a couple of weeks and I will review it. Xxx Mr T
DeleteAlso thank you for the shout out. We aim to share.
ReplyDeleteYou inspire - if we can spread your light to one more reader it is a good thing.
DeleteI created something very similar recently, trying to open a box of shortbread.
ReplyDeleteBuy it in tins JayCee. Or only eat it off plates in cafes perhaps.

ReplyDeleteHmmm... something of the Barnaby Barford, with a touch of Jose Yaque, pawhaps... now if Mr B can knock up a suitable frame, you could be at the beginning of clawing your way up the very furry undercoat of the modern art world! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
We have to go do some looking up. I take my inspiation from nature; my nature. I'll ask Mr B to frame it. Something fashioned in cardboard would be good. Would you like an invitation to my first exhibition YAM-aunty? Furrings and purrings Mr T
DeletePS. F rather likes Barford's Tower of Babel

DeleteI most definitely would, Tigger dear! h&w, Y-a xxx (and I like BB's fox...)
A budding artist! Lovely work. You’ll be even more famous soon.
ReplyDeleteWe could do collaborative art Angela... I sculpt, you paint .
ReplyDeleteThat would be fun
DeleteInto the nearest art gallery, try for a hanging with the promise of my works to come! Sounds like a plan….one I’m sure you could achieve. Might not be a ‘quick rich one’ though. Lovely to see you assessing your hidden talents.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a brief statement written on each art work expressing your feelings, interpretation and inspiration Tigger?
ReplyDeleteI imagine people expect to see the word frustration appear, but it is in fact more a sense of satisfaction, an expression of ownership, and the pure joy of being able to change the character of something (call it destruction if you wish, I just think of it as reforming). There is probably some esoteric way of saying 'because I wanted to' and making it sound high brow and impenetrable. F has a friend who did a whole university degree in curating those messages that go with the artwork!
DeleteIn my personal opinion, this true ART and if you took it to a gallery and hung it, people would say how talented you are and ooooohhh and ahhhhhh.
ReplyDeleteWe read a story about an 'artist' who turned up for an exhibition with nothing to show, waited until all the others had unpacked their exhibits, then swept the discarded packaging into a pile and gave it some waffle (the impenetrable kind that suggests deep thinking but actually reveals a vacuous mind) and ended up being an entry in the Venice Biennale. Hence my title. The story was actually an editorial written by an art critic who was arguing that a lot of such stuff is complete rubbish. We tend to agree.
DeleteArt should be enjoyable to both artist and viewer - it certainly looks like Tigger the Artist enjoyed this endeavour, but I'm not so sure this viewer would appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the Yves Klein slashed canvass paintings - and they are worth millions mow. So keep on Tigger!
