Spinepost

Tasker suggested it.

 It made me laugh.

It also made me think....projects with grandchildren perhaps

We now have a hedgehog feeding station and 4 hedgehog lodges; a covered food supply box, and two terracotta igloos and two lodges made from tipped over plastic storage boxes with doorways cut in and an atrium arrangement (effectively an inner wall that creates a chicane entrance).

That used up assorted junk lying about here and freed up access to our wood storage thing. In front of the weedshed seems to have been the ideal place to stack anything destined to become firewood and it has been like that for a year. As fast as one lot gets cut up another seems to appear from somewhere. Pallets mostly, but also old wooden outdoor furniture, old fence posts, and fallen branches collected from around the heath.

A 'blast from the past' friend turned up last week. She moved to NZ in 2019 and left a pile of stuff in a storage unit for 5 or 6 months. 4 years later she is clearing it and dropped off with us (for a trip to the tip) some paper for recycling and a couple of cracked plastic storage boxes

Diner (needs a neon and possibly a drive thru collections window)

I kind of hope that not all the hog apartments are used as we aleady have a prodigious amount of fresh hedgehog poop on the lawn every morning. On the other hand if they need places to hibernate in a garden with no dogs, no slug poison, plenty of food supplements and lots of slash piles to hide in then we'll just have to put up a spinepost telling them where to find it.

I'm linking this Bruised Reed Studio Instagram because this artist has made the cutest little hedgehogs : https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvFQXq9AQr7/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

    1. We do or at least we used to have - maybe on the other side of the divide. They were regular visitors in all the gardens i ever had especially on the farms in Canterbury.
