Jungle

These long tailed macaques were taking advantage of one of those lightening shelters the Singaporeans helpfully put anywhere there are trees under which humans might be walking when electrical storm truck in. This was water catchment reserve around the Macritchie Reservoir. More on that later - just enjoy the monkeys; I did.

  1. I love the baby intent on reaching the higher leaves when there are lower ones -- too easy!

    1. The baby ones spent boundless amounts of energy practicing small jumps. There even seemed to be a day care centre for them - one adult who had to keep an eye on 3 or 4 of them!

😄 They never fail to entertain... unless, of course, being chased by one. An experience I managed to end by releasing the mango we both wanted. YAM xx

    1. Ahh - the mango would do it. I was careful to ensure I had no food with me. (Jacob had warned I could see monkeys around the reservoirs.)

    1. I couldn't help wondering what Mr T would have made of them if riding in his back pack - or they make of him. People are allowed to walk dogs in this area provided they stay on the lead. What would you make of monkeys Nobby?

  6. well this is certainly my fill of excitement ad fun for the morning. can't decide which was best, the babies leaping ad playing are the staid old ones at the end grooming each other. I loved all of the videos and smiled and ooooooohhhh and awwwwwwed at all of them. got a giggle at yam and the mango thief.

    1. I posted them for you in particular to enjoy. I was sorry to have not filmed the baby getting dragged by back leg and tail into place for grooming and made to sit still while his fur was tugged and inspected. Squirmy kid not wanting its tangles brushed out....
