Beautiful sunrise photographs, referring to your post about skeletal trees. They look magnificent against a clear sky. There are some compensations for leaving a tropical paradise.
They do, don't they. The stark contrast with having lived around jungle greenery the last couple of months we really brought home when I got back. I don't think I have really looked at and fully appreciated the structure of trees in the past - general shape, and colour, leaf shape etc but not the way branches make patterns on a background.
What a difference from the lush greenery and colour of Singapore. I'll agree with the others. Those bare trees are works of art. And it is wonderful to see them slowly come alive again as the seasons change
I love these photos! Even though I prefer leaves on the trees, there’s a certain beauty to the symmetry of the bare branches. The pale pink is just so lovely! Thank you for sharing.
I'm really sorry I missed these. As a solstice baby, (at age 76), I celebrate the moment with alacrity (but with a disturbing loss of agility) and am especially fond of skeletal trees. They allow for more of the meagre light. I hope the new year is good to you.

DeleteWhat a lovely series of photos.
ReplyDeleteHere in North Britain, the midwinter light is something to be treasured!
Straight-ish branches and gnarly ones, too, against a moody sky. Beautiful. And you home!!
