Scully was unwell last night before going home. She put in a late appearance this morning, moped about looking morose as we took our time getting out. Rain delayed play to such an extent that she apparently gave up waiting and sloped off home again.
We did go for a walk during a dry spell. on reaching the 'village green' we were treated to a "go away" message by a pair of oystercatchers darting about on the foreshore.
Having decided to give them their space we cut across the green, whereupon their anguish and noise only increased. Suddenly Mr B stopped and pointed to what at my distance looked like another rock.
The wee cutie was as still as a rock.Thank goodness Scully wasn't with us after all.
Parent birds, having seen us off a decent distance, hurried back to their well programmed offspring.

That is amazing. Well spotted, Mr B.
ReplyDeleteHope Scully has recovered her spirits.
Fortunate bird family.
ReplyDeleteBut get well soon Scully...is it a case of the "seefood diet"..however inappropriate?
Ooh, I hope the little thing survives.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... playing rock might be good defence against actual predators, but perhaps movement would have served it better to alert human passers-by! What a wee cutie... YAM xx
so precious. hope my sweet Scully is ok today
ReplyDeleteAwww, so cute! Glad Mom and Dad were there for the rescue.
ReplyDeleteWow. We were watching oystee catchers a few weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteOyster catchers seem to be all over NZ, use to see alot of them in Mangawhai when we lived there. To answer your question, I wouldn't say it's been cold here, it just still feels a lot like Spring.
