Drag

Scully here... F told me it's my job to report on our long walk. It started at this sign, so I had to keep her tied to a string and lead the way.

Our walk was mostly in trees so shady despite the day being high tempertures. (My human sisters have gone back to school so of course the weather has finally turned into summer.)

We met another walker. She was the warden from the DOC lodge in Nydia Bay and there was some human chatting.

The problem with dragging a human about on a string (even a retractable/extendable one) is that the human isn't primed to charge into the bush whenever there is an interesting smell to pursue, so I can't report on encounters with wildlife and have to resort to borrowing photos from F. She takes pictures of plants and scenery.

This one is called Urtica ferox by humans - fierce nettle (or ferocious nettle). That's the wildest thing we captured in a picture.

Here's me doing my tour guide bit

F found a flower case off a Nikau palm - boring but it amused her.  At least she didn't try to fit it on me.
F is trying to make me learn new words- like...

kayak
porridge
swim
cheese

I already know these words but they aren't at all as interesting or motivating as WALK.

We need sign language so I can tell her it's walk time. Even when I dance about and talk to her she doesn't always get the message and goes off doing laundry or gardening or something that needs supervision.

Today is a reading day she said.

Tedious.

ps - we did do 2 kayaking circuits of the bay; not as good as a walk but better than no outing at all.
