My sister visited and gifted us a bag of limes
Three days later a neighbour called by bearing grapefruitWe already had oranges and satuma mandarins
Yesterday a different neighbour dropped in with a bag of lemons

That would once have been a sign from the universe to make lime marmalade but with sugar now being a banned substance at this address marmalade is a non-starter.
Rum and lime juice.
Thai curries with lashings of lime.
Maybe I should attempt some hot lime pickles...

the only bad thing about fruit of all kinds is the fact it all comes at the same time. I mean how much fruit can 2 people eat? this is wonderful. we used to give our grapefruit away to anyone who would take it and the avocados also, now the grapefruit tree died and the avocados doesn't bear fruit, only a few ugly ones. drought is horrible
ReplyDeleteFresh ripe citrus.. mmmm!!
ReplyDeleteYou're not going to be short of vitamin C!
ReplyDeleteMarmalade was exactly what I thought. But you can't have it sugar free. Make a couple of jars for yours and Scullies morning toast and hide it.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, squeeze and freeze.
Citrus ice cubes always come in handy
It's a wonderful variety. Lucky you
