Being well behind the play, I wouldn't even make the B team these days. Mr B's visa application for New Zealand has been wildly complicated by the time I spent living in Greece and now they are asking us to provide proof for each of the last 10 years that we have lived in (and continue to live in) what they describe as a stable and lasting relationship. I wish their website had said that when we started this application. Just before leaving for New Zealand I went through my filing cabinet and destroyed bin loads of paperwork that appeared to me to have no further use. Now the fact that much of it had my address on it and was dated over the last 10 years would have helped to establish that we really were living together all that time (and 10 years before that too). The problem is that when we go on holiday I photograph Mr B, he photographs me - and not always in the same places. We don't do selfies together - particularly not in restaurants or at intsagramab...

Telecom Boxes

Street furniture provides surfaces that invite decoration. Deliberate design, it seems, is generally respected by the few graffiti-ists who might ply their skills or talents hereabouts. Maybe they have been commissioned to decorate some of these telecoms boxes which are normally boring grey or dark green obstacles on our footpaths. Hairy McClary and friends at Argyll Park Silhouette of Southern Alps Speaks for itself really - the artist has really captured it. Rainbow trout are not native, but sport fishing for them (and brown trout) is licenced by Acclimatization Societies. When I was about 5 years old we lived close to a Hatchery - place that reared tiny trout for release into rivers and lakes. I clearly remember visiting the tanks of tiny silver fish flashing about - and one black one. The hatchery officer said that one was blind - their colour matches the light that they see. Nature Friday

Bit late - apologies Rosie. I did capture some Lilies for you this week. It's a great pity I can't also send you the intoxicating scent. Not far from us is a farm that grows Lilies for the 'bulbs' not the flowers. Paddocks and paddocks of Lilies that few people get to appreciate. Locals however have many of their exotic varieties and fancy hybrids in their gardens😁 Fuchsia is also flowering now. The last of the hostas. The bumblebees love these and have been doing their steady hum around checking each little funnel. And some Lilies to end it.

Hijacked

Mum wants to hijack my blog to publish a knitting pattern she has designed and written. I shouldn't let her do it but she isn't very tech savvy and she doesn't know how else to link it to her Ravelry account. She no longer has a blog of her own (deleted her old email address and locked herself out of the blog - stupid woman - but you can see the remnants of it here Mum's Baking Blog ) I'm making this as difficult as possible for her - sleeping with my face on the lefthand end of her keyboard. She has SHIFT and CTL on the other end but I have control of the letter A and my chin on the Caps Lock. She is very persistent, but she still hasn't worked out how to make it into a downloadable .pdf ( edit - oh yes she has Mr T -a lot can happen in 24 hours!)
